I liked this forum, because we could give advice to each other and help each other out with music. We could share music tastes. I don't really like it when people say that music tastes are 'shit', because how can a preference be 'shit'? It can't. I also don't like it when people insult each other over the internet.
This forum has turned into every other forum ever, just pointless arguments between angry, angry people who aren't actually interested in music, but want to fight. It's difficult to take most of the comments seriously, because they're so ridiculous that they must be either a joke or from someone who must be ignored because of their massively negative views.
(Jarrad Stewart) I've never posted a comment on this forum, and all the hate on it makes me never want to ever. Music is the most beautiful thing ever in life (my opinion) and bitching about each others bands, tastes, performances, venues, recordings, whatever, is taking away the beauty we are all making. i'll use Tell Me Bluntly and Yoko Oh No. There not particularly my style, doesn't mean i should announce how much i hate them like a 13 year old girl on the net. I love the fact these two bands are out, making music and enjoying themselves, which i think music is about. I've seen TMB and i plan on seeing Yoko Oh No, beside the fact they are not in my iTunes playlist of 'good music', but because they seem like they enjoy what there doing. Music is not a competition. Lets have a gig with Yoko Oh No, and make peace with the hatred on this internet fuck.
But still, it's a terrible thing to happen to a forum which I felt was helping musicians get to know each other and understand each other's music and music tastes. All music has value. What do YOU think?

well Turners obviously only joined this forum to stir shit, so I've banned him. I still think this is one of the more relaxed forums out there, I wish it was a tad bigger, but I'm not sure what else I can do to get people to join.

What he's doing is no different to what Turner did. I don't know how you could put them into separate categories at all. This guy isn't being constructive at all either.

It's not so bad now. Some of Unstoppable's comments have been pretty good and interesting. A few of them are the same old disagreeing for the sake of pissing people off, but I guess that's his passion. That's a pretty wild guess though.

"make peace with the hatred on this internet fuck"
I don't really see any hatred going on. Sure, titlice was a troll and I'm pretty sure he's been banned now. And sure, Unstoppable has made some pretty pointless insulting comments, but besides that, everything's been pretty nice and fun.

Obviously, besides those comments everthing's been fine. But that doesn't mean that the bad stuff doesn't exist, just because everything else is good. I can't believe we're in the same band. FUCK - OFFFFFFFFFF!@@@@@@@!

I was replying to what Jarrad said. Jarrad's the stupid piece of shit for saying that there's tonnes of hatred going on when there's been none at all. Not you. But seriously, I'm pretty sure no one except unstoppable has bagged out another band on this forum. Well, not a band that posts here, I don't think.

But on a forum of 5-10 people one person is hard to ignore. Well, not really, but still annoying.

Why is everyone calling Daniel 'Turner'? I mean sure that's his last name but everyone calls him Daniel.

The answer is what you guys had 2 years ago, All Ages ACT coupled with a venue like the Greenroom was something ALL UNDERAGERS knew about. It had amazing power and the shutting down of All Ages ACT coupled with the recent closure of the Greenroom just fucked over the already crippled band scene here.
The problem is every person wants to start a production company, poster making thing, promotion thing, everyone wants a slice of the cake instead of working together and im sorry to say its amusing to watch considering i launched myself on the band scene but now have my focus elsewhere.
This forum is not full of dicks, theres a few people here that I value the opinions of including fueltothefire and a few others. Theres also however a lot of fuckheads who act like they are doing so much for the scene when all they do is whinge on here about stuff that isnt really a problem and that they will not resolve.
When All Ages ACT was around I noticed promotion for a lot of events. For the past 6 months or so I have seen absolutley jack all anywhere and the fact is a lot of you guys need to realise people are not coming to find your shows, your probably putting on fucking quality bands like Turbulance, Astrochem and more but the promotion is nothing short of pathetic.
It seems the majority of you live on the southside, it shows because theres no promotion on my side of town, but postering is out of date anyway.
Facebook > Myspace. Face it, I dont care if you hate it, if you want to expand your audience you guys need to embrace Social Networking, maybe you have but nobody knows about it.
One group of people needs to come together. Groups, Pages, all types of promotion across Facebook and continue on Myspace. Get event pages happening on both well in advance and have a central name instead of all these dicky sub companys.
Post Op Productions and Mission 1 should be joined, Post Op to me just sounds like its for the $$$ though I expect its not and I realise a lot of shows make jack all for money.
Instead of splitting up into all this rubbish, All Ages ACT should have remained, if it was too much for you Pete you should have asked for help instead of stopping the biggest power the underage scene has ever seen and started this Mission 1 and Post Op rubbish. Why couldnt you incorperate a webzine into All Ages ACT and add your promotion and photography interests into something that had power instead of starting new and losing a lot of people? The fact your moving to Brisbane is going to further weaken things because you did so much for the scene (and that will be forever valued), dismantled it and now even if you get things happening again, your gone before you see it through.
I realise im making all these outlandish statements and im not a part of the scene, but it doesnt take a fucking genius to realise what has to be done.
There needs to be more diversity as well, only bands are accepted at these performances, I know because when I started deejaying I got rejected left right and center and even with All Ages ACT had to try follow stuff that never turned into anything, now it doesnt bother me because I got regular work but I wish i could have got more involved since my interests are not in rock music (I NEVER played commercial stuff at my Greenroom gigs so dont suggest I would not fit anyway (that doesnt mean i played hardcore/Gabber or anything like that either))
So what have I covered, Promotion and Diversification. I know theres more but I want to wait for the backlash before I continue and clear questions and the shitstorm im ready for for the people who actually think these "companys" that are around now actually make a difference.
Also want to say if your serious about the scene, get a serious website going, stop getting pathetic URL shortners, a free blog and forum with ads, put your money were your mouth is and make a proper website to represent what you do.
